What to know before your Photo Session

I specialise in newborn, child, family, and pregnancy fine-art photography. I prefer to capture the natural expressions that come from candid disposition. The best portraits come from when people are being themselves, and not when they are simply told to stare at the camera and say "cheese".

A typical session:

Sessions are individually tailored to meet the needs of your family. Portrait photography sessions are never rushed and typically last anywhere from one to two hours.

I like to devote ample time for your session, in order to give your family the time and attention you deserve, and in order to capture the moments you will treasure. I will work with you to determine the best time of day for your portrait session, working around naps, feedings, and the individual needs of yourself, and your children to make the experience as stress free and enjoyable as possible.

What to wear:

Clothing is a crucial element to a successful portrait session, and vital to obtaining the outcome that you see in your mind's eye. Your individual consultation will occur over the phone either at the time of your session booking, or within a couple weeks of your session date, in order to determine what clothing will be best. Once you have established a session date, I will inform you what to wear and what to bring on your session date, along with the studio location and directions. Try to keep your clothing plain and comfortable. Stay away from Labels(Logo's and prints) on clothing.

Viewing the images:

Your images will be available for viewing 1 week after your session date, depending on which session type you have selected. Once your images are ready to view, you will be contacted to arrange a custom in-studio presentation appointment, where you will be shown a multimedia presentation featuring your images, and where you will have the opportunity to take advantage of My portrait design expertise to assist you in selecting the perfect image, in the perfect size, for that perfect place in your home.
